Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Magnifix and Universiti Pendidikan

Information System on Linux Thin Client Infrastructure Solution
Kuala Lumpur, 10th October 2001- Magnifix Sdn Bhd, Malaysian leader in open source solutions, today announced that the company had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) to research and develop a School Information System based on Linux Thin Client Infrastructure Solution in Malaysia.
The signing ceremony was done in conjuction with the IPTA Rnd Event in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. Signing was made by Meor Fauzi from Magnifix and UPSI's Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato' Mohammad Nor Salleh, witnessed by the Minister of Education Tan Sri Musa Mohammad.
By signing the MOU, it will enable both party to work very closely hand in hand with each areas of expertise in development of the product. Currently, at the ALPHA stage the product which will be co-owned by both party is targeted to be release sometime in the first quarter of next year.
Commenting on the signing, Tan Sri Musa said that " It is in the government directions that more Research & Development projects to be a collaborations between Universities and local companies" .
